WHAT ARE THE INDICATIONS OF P0234 IN A CAR?


Known as the engine over-boost condition, P0234 is caused when the engine control module finds out that the signals from the intake boost pressure sensor are above the prescribed limits by 4 psi for more than 5 seconds. 




Mostly occurring in VW Golf, P0234 in VW Golf 2.0 TDI can be treated from experienced and trained mechanics only. As there are several components in a car, there is always a possibility that some of these components can malfunction. To ensure that your car has P0234 and not any other problem, look out for these indications mentioned below: 

Illuminated check engine light

If your car has P0234, then your check engine light would get lightened up and the code ‘P0234’ would be set in the memory of the ECM. 

Failing gaskets 

When a car suffers from P0234 or the engine over-boost condition, there are high chances of failure of gaskets. If such incidences occur regularly, it might be a case of P0234 and the best course of action would be to get it checked-out from experienced mechanics. 
Malfunctioning of engine
